This is a facebook bs repost. There are no articles from ‘authorities’ encouraging anyone to eat the moths.
Sir this is a shitpost
Remember, everything we see on the Internet is totally true. If we find out otherwise, we need to shout it from the mountaintops rather than just rolling out eyes and moving on
The world is a shitpost. Hard to find the truth today.
Sir, a lot of ppl in these comments seem to have missed that. Just providing context that it is, in fact, not true
The wings totally helped with presentation

I’ve eaten thai-style fried crickets, they really weren’t that bad. I think you just have to turst that they indeed are edible, so its easier to think of them as food rather than bugs
“really weren’t that bad” is not the recommendation you think it is.
Yea i get it. But like i’d rather eat them bugs than olives, for example, thats just how I feel
NOT HELPING
Bro I can barely eat crayfish. They look too much like insects.
Is this a recession signal?
The big problem with eating fried insects is that you need to rinse your mouth with something or the bits stay around. Flour made from insects may be better, but it is 5-10 as much cost, and since it is mostly proteins you would need special recipes for it, I guess.
Most insects probably have similar mouth feel issues. The words “insects” and “mouth feel” do not belong in the same sentence.
JFC
Is it not customary to have a drink with your meals?
This guy insects!
I know this is privileged but if it comes down to needing to eat insects, just put me down.
I went from being a typical omnivore to vegan within the span of a week and it was the easiest thing I’ve ever done in my life. So when I see people resorting to eating insects it’s really bewildering to me. Like, you’d rather eat bugs than just eat plants?
The problem with insect plagues is they easy all the plants
Don’t know about these moths though
Are people getting mad at a shitpost? Again?
How is 40 billion moths, considered “scarcity”?
It’s a different sort of moth to one you might enjoy on a sandwich.
Write that down in your copy book.
Aren’t these moths endangered?
plague
That sounds like a self-sustaining population that might actually endanger other species
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bogong_moth They are listed as “endangered” on the IUCN red list 🤷♂️
After the Aussies found out how tasty they are
The Ngunnawal people came to Canberra specifically to harvest Bogong moths during the migration as they are a valuable source of protein and fats.
All the people here having a crack at Australian cuisine don’t have a clue. These moths are quite tasty.
I don’t think the vegans would like that, kill 2000 endangered moths or one hundredth of a cow?
Depends… if you don’t eat meat for environmental reasons insect protein is a good replacement. Also, if the moths are appearing as a plague they don’t sound endangered to me.
It’s their migratory cycle to reproduce, storms blew them into Sydney from the mountains
What do they taste like?
Mothy
A light nutty taste. Very moreish with a bit of salt
This is only like one degree away from the protein bars in snowpiercer
Wheren’t those actual humans?
It was roaches.
Which doesn’t sound healthy since a lot of people are allergic to roaches.
You’re thinking of Soylent Green
in the book it’s people, in the movie it’s bugs
That explains why they announced it with such horror. I never really understood that.
I feel the same way! My reaction was like “okaayy, that seems resourceful, not horrific to me; but everyone on this train hates it I guess.”
Exactly!
Gotcha
eat your bugs
honestly looks delicious
Dunno about the wings tho.
You can have mine, pass me your steak.
