I just finished lights around a constant combinator that serves as a switch for recovery of power in case of a brownout on Vulcanus. The lights are circling around the combinator while changing colours through the whole spectrum.
It’s completely useless and I love it and am very proud of it. I spent 2 evenings on it :-)

One suggestion for securing your base before leaving is to make a construction tank. Tanks can be driven remotely and have equipment grid. You can put personal roboport in there and use it as your clumsy impersonation for building outside your roboport coverage from anywhere.

The black diagonals appear to be abandoned extensions of the void, I don’t feel bad overwriting those. I think someone started drawing a Tux, but I believe they started after me. I really really don’t want to rescale, I don’t have a good way of doing that. I was stupid and didn’t think it through, so I created an image and then tried to find a best place to fit it, rather than the other way around. Also, I had to do it in spare free moments, so there was a good change selected place would be taken anyway by the time I was ready.
It sounds amazing. Lots of independent electrical networks, mess of rails, fresh mechanics of resources without anything new while getting advanced resources immediatly… Looks very interesting. Can’t wait.
Some basic circuits are quite simple, if you hooked up an alarm, there’s a lot you can do. For example, controlling inserters based on chest contents can be very helpful when you output multiple products into a single passive provider to avoid one product taking all space. Or observing a single accumulator charge to disengage power switch :-) But the most complicated logic I did is really only decorative. And I’m also having fun with multiproduct assemblers.
