That’s almost my same exact setup. Pc parts in my house currently go me --> son —> server. Servers got the ole trusty launch 1700 still going.

10·1 year agoTailscale is amazing. When i first started self hosting i tried a bunch of things to avoid a companies solution but tailscale just works perfectly and form what they say in interviews they dont intend to change the free tiers. Its also open source and there’s headscale so eventually you could not rely on the company at all.
If it’s just for local you can add dns hostnames in the gui. I have all my lan boxes defined in pihole with the .lan under the local dbs ootio. Might even work for external too
Jellyfins Xbox app is unusable and afaik there’s no app for Samsung tvs or at least not older ones.

0·3 years agoIf you’re not using arm remove the arm tags. Not sure about the network issue as u should be able to declare networks in compose easily. Id check if some formatting got messed up in copying it over as the yaml is usually whitespace sensitive. Is there more to the pictrs error because that image is pretty basic and jus pulls it doen

1·3 years agoI didn’t notice either because the .16 version worked for me without a tag. When installing .17 I started getting errors and had to search around.

The tailnet domain doesn’t really matter that much if you have your own. I just use tailscale IP for everything that’s not in adgaurs with a host name already
