She’s a tabby so she rolls and swims on the carpet all the time. She also does flip tricks when killing her innocent toys for the nth time.

If you accept this one anecdote of an ambulance being stuck in NY, then you have to accept my anecdote that everyone in the PNW moves over to let ambulances through no problem.
It’s not all the same.

Do you have multiple hot services constantly hitting the disk? If so, it can be advantageous to split the heavy hitters across different disk controllers, so in high redundancy situations that means different dedicated pools. If it’s a bunch of services just reading, filesystems like ZFS use caching to almost completely eliminate disk thrashing.

This is another dog whistle (siren really) that will be used by the racists, bigots, and fascists to continue a campaign against minorities and promote greater deportation.

Makes me miss Miiverse. It was so good.
I use Actual and my solution is to just report the differences in investments value at the end of each week as a transaction. It’s not great but it affords me an opportunity to see trends in a different way and make adjustments feeling a little more informed. I even put my car in and just check KBB every year and update it. Helps with the year end net worth evaluation though it’s not the most flexible.

Several southern states only survive because of the critical mass of tax money from west cost cities.

astrsk@fedia.ioto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•How did a simple phone call become so problematic?1·3 months agoBeing private and nobody wanting to actually read them are two different things. Owners and operators of irc serves, bbs, etc have historically always been able to read the data flowing through them. Especially in the early internet and arpanet days where encryption didn’t even exist nor would it have been feasible given the computing power required at the time. My only point is that “private messages” have never been private if they’re through any service on the internet that is not verifiably encrypted end to end.
Always ask one question: who does this help?
