  • He knows what Republican voters want: cruelty.

Republican voters haven’t given shit 1 about governance since I’ve been alive. They don’t believe in society, and believe everything they have was in no way facilitated by the society they live in or the government that maintains it. Remember how psycho the voters went when Obama simply pointed out that entrepreneurs rely on national infrastructure and wouldn’t have made their business empires what they were in a vacuum without said infrastructure?

Donald Trump became president on the same philosophy of cruelty plans first and only. The closest Republicans get to running on a policy position is promising to “drown the government in a bathtub.” Psychotic enough for you?

    Republican derps gotta herp.

  • It’s not democracy, but pay for play, hush money, and an overall culture of bribery is more American than apple pie ever was.

The prominence of Trump is just a symptom of America’s long running greed disease of putting capital miles above people.

If we had altered our economy and culture not to worship at the alter of sociopathic avarice and reckless growth/metastasis, Donald Trump would have gone to jail before he was a game show host, let alone POTUS.

I’m voting for Biden to keep my conscience clean but without hope, because the sad truth is, Donald Trump absolutely represents what America is in all it’s grotesque, sociopathic, schadenfreude reveling, toxic hyper-individualistic, inhuman glory.

He’s like a cartoon embodiment of who we actually are as a society in practice, and why I can’t stand this place, a nepo-wealth bully obsessed with wealth hoarding that’s got his, knows that means he makes the rules, and fuck you 🇺🇸

  • The fact that making significant sacrifices in abandoning many of the decadent comforts of this period at our only habitat’s irreparable (on a human timescale) damage expense is met with ridicule shows how determined we are to wreck this place.

Imagine mass famines and frequent catastrophic weather events a couple generations from now. I’m guessing they’ll look at us being above living with our once kind, nurturing habitat with disdain and bewilderment when they’re steeped in the fruits of our lifestyles.

Im not saying going back to the dark ages, im not advocating rejecting knowledge, only the rushing around and consumerism. There’s no more reasonable room for growth, growth is killing us, and robbing us of meaning.

If we can’t live with this paradise, the idea of us spreading to hostile, unforgiving worlds within reach like Mars or Titan is a bad joke. Unlike the infinite mistakes we get to keep making here without instant death, one major mistake out there where we didn’t evolve, and poof everybody dead instantly thanks for playing space faring civilization. That isn’t a game humans can pull off. Maybe some small crew of exceptional people, but certainly not a colony of regular people.

This is what we got. So yeah, maybe spending our time whittling stuff we need and moving at the speed of horse would be better for humanity long term than racing to grow our GDP into extinction.

Whats the endgame of all this growth and “innovation” if it wasn’t killing us as it is? To have Google ad AI generated amalgums of our dead relatives transmitted directly into our brains to convince us to buy more crap?

  • It does, but if a catastrophic war, including one with nuclear weapons, brought us down to 2 billion from 9, those nukes wouldn’t even touch the current course of heavy industry of 9 billion that we recklessly became without a thought in the world about whether our only habitat could support it.

Because shooting wars end, even if through attrition. Industry just keeps metastizing if you let it, and pretty lies like “but we planted trees! That evens out all the shit we’re pumping in the air and water!” are just pretty lies.

If we cared about our species having a future, heavy industry would be scaled back to food/medicine, we could sow our own clothes, go back to horses, breed less, communaly build our own structures, and whittle our own shelf crap, and we could perhaps still provide a future to subsequent generations. We do not.

  • The problem is, the women who have been in his corner are proudly against their own interests.

They seem to derive identity from being against their own gender’s acquisition of rights and status.

They’re akin to the sizable women’s anti suffrage movement that came with the suffrage movement, patronizingly acting like they know better than to give people like themselves equal status to men.

Hopefully this pushes away the no-low information independent women, but the only way for Trump to lose Republican votes he currently has would be to suddenly find civility, tact, and demonstrate basic respect towards his opponent, which would never happen.

  • I’m voting blue to keep the water pumps on a sinking ship going to buy a little time and delay some suffering. The ship is dead.

We need a new constitution with a focus on punishing people that try to buy more influence than their single vote permits with the same severity as murderers. I don’t believe in capital punishment, but if murderers are getting it I’m fine with would be antisocial profiteers getting the same treatment, but would prefer life in prison all around.

You might say that’s impossible, but capitalist created, climate change induced collapse makes all things possible long term, and there’s no real interest by people with power/capital in mitigating that.

Even our fallible, slave owning and raping founders who floated voting rights be tied to land ownership acknowledged their document was not divine and would eventually need to be replaced… a quarter millenium ago.
