I was in your place 3 months ago… Mine was also 16, we had a special bond, that cat was my baby, it still hurts terribly. One thing I would recommend that has helped me in an unexpected way is having a small space in my room dedicated to her… A nice carved wooden “urn” box, one of my favorite pictures of her framed and her favorite toy next to it… Also a bud vase I rotate flowers from my garden in. Not sure why it helps, maybe because it feels like one last way to honor them and do one more thing for them, and that feels nice.

Hang in there, there’s no easy way through this. Hopefully the above suggestion can help bring you some peace, I’m still working through regaining my own.

It’s okay, they’ve only lost over a million people so far, and they still have all those women and children to send into the meat grinder.

I was summoned last year. Didn’t get selected for the jury but did still spend two days listening to the selection process and info on the case.

It was a sad one, DUI. Mother was driving and went head on into another car, her own 4-5y.o. daughter died in the accident.

Her and her boyfriend looked like trouble, exactly what you’d picture when you think of a couple driving under the influence and getting their own daughter killed out of their negligence and stupidity… Sad that they were able to have kids in the first place, some people should be fucking sterilized. I heard a few months back that she got some bullshit slap on the wrist sentence - she was sure to get pregnant before sentencing, figuring that factored into a lighter sentence. I know she’s probably already suffered plenty knowing what she did, but I have a hard time feeling sympathy for someone who does something as gross as what she chose to do and feel she deserved a decade or more, not a year or two.

There’s people serving more time for possession of weed in this country than others who are responsible for the death of someone.

Naive take at best. Love the tone deaf armchair “advice” all the non-Americans have for us, like you’ve been through this before and led a political movement yourself to earn the social safety nets/benefits your country provides for you. I’m sure you fought for everything you enjoy, lol.

No doubt, getting everyone convinced to vote is a good thing, but the majority of this comes down to money in politics, which will take a fucking revolution to change, not a ballot.

This sounds like it could’ve been a headline you see watching Black Mirror 6 years ago.

I think it’s more about who you are sharing it with rather than that you are sharing it.

If I were single, I wouldn’t be calling up a friend or relative to tell them about my day, but it’s nice to share with the wife when the day was particularly difficult/good/fun/etc
