To remind you that you’re not as tough as you think you are.

Edit: why is that one on a leash?

why is that one on a leash?

Man, that brought up a childhood memory. As a kid, my siblings and I used to catch this specific species of Russian hoverfly that looks like a wasp on a string like that and walk around with them. Since they could hover, they didn’t even seem to mind it much and just went along with it.

Scavenger trait gives bonus evolution points to spend on other upgrades. Flying is strong on carapace centric builds. Makes sense.

When I was a kid, my uncle would tie a sewing threads on the rear legs of a cockroach. Then throw it in the air and it would become a morbid balloon. I would often pull too hard and rip it’s legs out.

    The 80s were weird.

Come to Florida and meet the Palmetto Bugs. First time I encountered one in the dark I thought it was a bat.

My science teacher in high school told me all the kinds can fly, it’s just a matter of age. So maybe that’s why it’s only the big ones? Idk i don’t see the little ones flying either but apparently the little ones are the absolute worst to have around

The insect apocalypse is by far the most ominous sign in my lifetime, but if I never again see a mating swarm of palmetto bugs, a cloud of them flying, it will be too soon.

Once we were at a Mexican restaurant and in the booth behind us were some students from somewhere else. They were talking about the palmetto bugs and one said, well at least they don’t fly. And I turned around and said, “oh no, I regret I have some very bad news for you.”

Those fuckers don’t even run or fly away, they come AT you. My mom said they like to try to squeeze into small spaces, don’t like being out in the open and see you as a safe place not a threat. I have a fear of them that is way beyond reason.
