Yes, he was an idiot for falling for it so hard.
However, he’s going to be working late into his retirement years.
My support worker had half a million in the bank, in cash. She got scammed out of it and now struggles every day trying to afford rent and food :(

That’s super tragic holy moly. I wonder how we can protect these folks and help them.

On one hand people should be restricted from screwing themselves so bad, but on the other hand people need to be free to make their own mistakes.
