Nah. It’s most likely not that direct. If the boss makes it clear that they measure productivity by blindly adhering to some dumb metric (number of updates , kloc, number of bugfixes) then the devs will find a way to max out that stat, to get bonuses, promos, etc.

And it isn’t deportation. Deportation is sending someone to another country, generally the one they originally came from and where they hopefully have citizenship. This is paying some completely unrelated country to imprison someone with no legal avenue for due process or release. The best description I can come up with is kidnapping and imprisonment abroad.

ETA: it’s been pointed out that Mr Garcia is originally from El Salvador so this isn’t one of the cases where we’re sending Venezuelans to an unrelated country. It’s still super fucked up since the dude had legal status and no criminal record and no due process. Is El Salvador just a lawless dictatorship? I’m a US citizen and I agree with them 100%. A bunch of us tried to tell everyone that Trump was a fascist dumpster fire that would try to make himself king, trash the economy and violate everyone’s civil and human rights. A bunch of ding dongs voted for him anyway. Now he’s making outlandish and insulting demands of our allies, fucking up trade and markets (along with abusing the civil and human rights of some protesters, asylum seekers and random travelers, oh, and throwing Ukraine under the bus and encouraging a fucking measles outbreak). So yeah, I don’t want my house and retirement savings to go into the shitter if the country goes full Nazi and I have to flee with nothing. So maybe if some folks have to do without eggs and cheap imports for a while they just might maybe learn that we need to pull the US out of this tailspin before it’s too late. Cows are getting avian influenza. Farm workers are getting it from the chickens and cows. There is concern that people may eventually catch bird flu from raw milk. The more people get infected, the greater the odds that a mutation will develop that allows human to human transmission. Unfortunately, we may, yet again, have all of our lives and livelihoods threatened by people too ignorant to take even the most basic precautions for self preservation.

I make yogurt all the time with pasteurized milk. Why would “thin yogurt” require raw milk? I have read that you get a thicker yogurt using regular pasteurized milk instead of ultra pasteurized milk, but I have had zero problems making yogurt with either.

The claims I’ve seen are that search results are censored. Like if you search for specific phrases like “Trump fraud” you will get back videos in every country except the US (unless you use a VPN). I haven’t tested this yet, but I have seen videos on TT where liberals and leftists are complaining about it and about the all the Trump dickriding around the ban. The people in my feed are now very distrustful of the app and are looking for alternatives.

If you’re trying to demonstrate real world programming skills then selecting and using an appropriate library is the best move (unless this is an unlikely case where there is some really compelling reason why a custom implementation would be preferable).
