A quick google suggests that there are over 400k non-citizens with criminal convictions in the US. Even with such a large number it seems like it would be really hard to locate and apprehend 1,500 of them each day. It’s not like ICE wasn’t trying before! It’s just more ridiculous theatrics. I feel bad for all the normal immigrant families that are living in fear because of this nonsense.

I hear you. I was getting way too worked up about it as well. I’ve reduced my phone time as best I can, got some physical activity in, and tried to focus on some hobbies. It has really been helping but it took a couple days to take effect. I’m sure that you have or will be voting. Just do your part and then try to occupy yourself with other things.
For C++ I found the clangd plugin to be the secret. Just install that and get your build to output a compile_commands.json in your build folder. That is easy to do with cmake but most other setups can do it too. The plugin will find that after a clean build. Then it will magically index your whole project.
I feel that backup cameras have become more necessary as crash safety rules have become more stringent. The belt line on cars is really high now. You can’t see as much out of the sides or the back. My car from the early 2000s definitely had windows that were lower and I had no trouble parallel parking it without a camera. I appreciate the cameras on the newer vehicles. Easier parking is great but also… not running over little kids is good too I suppose.
