World News@lemmy.world•Perfectly Preserved Dinosaur Embryo Found Inside Fossilized EggEnglish
32·2 years agoYes, weirdly the very same website wrote about it back then (https://www.iflscience.com/fully-intact-dinosaur-embryo-found-inside-fossilized-egg-62004). I’m not sure what inspired another article now.
How are you choosing your destinations in the first place? There just be a reason you’re traveling to these places, especially as you state it’s specifically for tourism. Wouldn’t it make sense to do/see the things that attracted you there in the first place?

World News@lemmy.world•Man arrested after stabbing near British Museum in LondonEnglish
3·2 years agoIs this an automated post? You told me this already earlier today and I told you that I am cross-posting but most apps do not yet recognise the function.
How do you feel about finding things difficult and failure? Because that’s really important to consider when thinking of suggestions. It also depends how dedicated or how hard you are on yourself.

World News@lemmy.world•Vegan influencer Zhanna Samsonova 'dies of starvation' after decade of only eating raw fruit and vegetablesEnglish

It’s mostly tabloid press covering this story, but here’s one slightly more legitimate source I found: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/08/01/zhanna-samsonova-tiktok-instagram-vegan-diet-dies/

World News@lemmy.world•Germany: Ukrainian refugees living in mining 'ghost towns'English
7·2 years agoThis makes sense. Homes for a large numbers of additional people were needed, and these homes were available.

World News@lemmy.world•UN says it's forced to cut food aid to millions globally because of a funding crisisEnglish
122·2 years agoIs it just because of a funding crisis, or is it also because of rising prices partly due to sheer profiteering?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some changes or improvements that you would like made in yourself or the world?
2·2 years agoI don’t like this one, sorry. I think it would be better to help people realise that facing hardships in order to achieve a dream isn’t a guarantee of success. Rather, it’s okay to fail and not everyone will succeed.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How are you managing your interaction with redundant communities?English
2·2 years agoTo be honest, I don’t even know what instance I’m looking at most of the time. My app doesn’t show the instance name, only the community name, and the community names are often all identical across instances.

World News@lemmy.ml•The Whales Gathered in a Heart Shape. Experts Feared What Would Come Next.English
201·2 years agoWhat a terrible headline. Tell me what the experts thought. I don’t want to see this kind of clickbait here. Change the title yourself if necessary, just don’t let this kind of shit slide.

World News@lemmy.ml•Tokyo man deemed eligible for compensation after outing by boss
12·2 years ago…his boss immediately told a female employee without his consent. The man eventually had to leave the job due to mental issues that resulted from being ignored by the woman.
I wonder what her problem was. Homophobic or just heavily uncomfortable because of societal norms and standards?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•With the way the world's going, is there even a point to anything anymore?
3·2 years agoYou’re right. I’d suggest changing your last question slightly: why bother worrying anymore? If you can acknowledge these problems, recognise you’re powerless, and instead focus on your own personal happiness and wellbeing, you might find a bit more purpose and a little less doom and gloom in your life.

World News@lemmy.ml•EU Signs Border Control Pact with Tunisia to Stop MigrationEnglish
2·2 years agoI wonder what the exact terms of the deal are. For example, if Tunisia takes the money and does very little with it to stem the flow of migrants to the EU, will there be any consequences? How could it be monitored?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What app is so useful, you can’t believe it’s free?English
1·2 years agoI can’t believe Photopea (https://www.photopea.com/) is free. It has nearly all the same features as Photoshop and works in just the same way. But it runs in the browser! Super quick, regularly updated, and free. Amazing.

World News@lemmy.world•Aspartame is safe in limited amounts, say experts after cancer warningEnglish
7·2 years agoIt’s literally in the first sentence of the article. “A widely used artificial sweetener deemed a “possible” cause of cancer is safe in limited quantities, such as consuming fewer than nine to 14 cans of soft drink a day, experts have said.”
