What good lessons do you remember, like just generally?

If you post more than lurk (or even do just posting and no lurking) its a bit easier because you get to sort of curate your audience and its expectations way more.

Honestly, i spend little to no time actually lurking, I think Lemmy for me is less lurk-friendly because the content is still relatively small-pipeline compared to like Reddits possible subreddit audience sizes but I’m also very intentional reader when it comes to new content I feel like wading thru

Outcome 1: an always reasonably clean, organized home space

= the same level of clean and organized that I would have had to have scrambled to clean every time to have it be minimally presentable for a reasonable hypothetical fellow visitor

1. Everything has a place and by the end of the day/before bed, do a sweep thru place to clear all the surfaces and everywhere else until everything is back in its place. I’ll know its in its place because the next time i need it, especially if I need it during a phone call, I will know where to get it immediately, and if its in the wrong place, i will often lose track of it and not have it available regularly

2. Stop buying new stuff, or at least dispose of multiple old things to compensate. Sometimes the best firstline strategy is dont add to an untenable state, that can be a force for good and a sufficient effort in itself. Make deals with yourself that get you both more of what you want at the expense of what you dont want

3. Reduce friction by making it easy to do the things that promote clean and organized state Ask: why does this task overwhelm or bother me, is there an example of something you did before that was a positive and that you could turn to again?

Outcome 2:

Doesnt even make sense. Okay, lets just lose the worlds semiconductor supplier to China. Yep, nothing problematic there

Whats the most mellow organ sound/playing or example you know of for organ? Like resonant and enveloping but mellow timbre and probably lower register for pitch

Dont know if this is similar or relevant but I was using an online free yt-dlp website and the schtick is you just paste the link for a video or playlist and it formats everything and runs yt-dlp on their server and people can download the files among all the other files of other people doing the same thing or god knows what but it was sort of fascinating.

Might try it out again just to people/file watch. I find these kind of community/public computer stuff absolutely fascinating

You cant really rely on it but it makes sense to be selective for apps that make an effort to No(t) Data Collected where its possible.

A more pragmatic strategy is to disable cellular data and see if it can run without internet or wifi. Apps that cant that have no actual reason it cant be done locally are out immediately but you have to buy or download it to test first i suppose.

I guess I mean to say no data collected is a good sign but I still verify and even any of this is no herge against a company who’s business is selling out your interests when they and the unaware could have almost certainly made a better choice. Vote with your money and your feet or thumbs

Just be mindful about who is advocating for what. If someone is randomly talking about parasites and hawking some cure that only they know about and that the guverment aint want you to find out about, its probably a grift

Its literally a selfish thing for me cuz its just whatever im curious about haha but glad people find some enjoyment. Its really no work at all altho i might have to lay back a bit with the engagement after I spout it out for a bit ;)

its certainly easier to learn things intentionally or unintentionally by just engaging directly with it irl real time

I love things that are fondness-enhancing for the person by itsef but also that go further and make apparent their mental process that is gracious to you

Learn to say no when something or someone doesn’t jive with you. Be able to say no even if someone threatens the friendship or relationship or whatever because if they talk like that, they are manipulating you and its a strong indicator they have more power in the relatiinship which they are abusing to take advantage of you.

Speak up, make some noise. The squeaky wheel is always the one that gets the grease or at least whatever grease there is to be gotten.

Have a relative who has another language as their mother tongue but has perfect of my native language so we code switch a lot, I’m not fluent but I enjoy throwing in bits of what I know and they seem to appreciate it and encourage it

Weirdly, I kind of like parts of their language so I have lots of fun with wordplay and playing with the spelling and such and mashing them together for comedic effect like Sacha Baron Cohen does in Bruno

Just ignore them or dont engage to begin with. Nothing but cold hard reality and impersonal unresponsive systems/actors can teach them otherwise cuz their minds and hearts are not open. They only care and understand that which directly affects them at the exact moment it becomes real to and for them and they cannot escape having to face concrete, material and often lifestyle destroying 'quences. Theres just no other way, they are like the kind of dug in alcoholic who has to hit rock bottom in order for them to fathom what can be otherwise safely and easily perceived from the mountain top upon which they previously resided

They only have power if you grant them it by even engaging, and secondarily when you play by their rules the moment they are allowed to move goalposts or respond by posing a new avenue rather than answering a direct question you should reciprocally get an answer to and to your satisfaction it has been asked and answered. If they get away with anything, they will continue to do what works for them until they are forcefully stopped and sufficiently deterred such that they are holding their dick in their hand and it starts cutting into their money, time, satisfaction, or feeling of well-being
