the doctor.
watch musk turn the “savings” from “DOGE” efforts into a gov purchase of twitter at twice what he paid, with the argument that they plan to nationalize a digital platform for communication between politicians and voters, while tying a privatized transactions system to the platform where he siphons a small percentage of every transactions ever done by an american henceforth.

a game-o-sopher. when life gives you shitty loot, change the difficulty settings.

the number of trees I’ve punched in life is more than zero.
most businesses have to run ads to turn a profit. part of the equation of every sale you make comes down to a finely balanced cost of ads vs the profit on sales of the product or service, if the cost of advertising is higher than the product, it’s a product that basically just won’t enter the market (yay capitalism). so ads companies like google or facebook are essentially forcing most businesses around the globe to pay them a percentage on each and every product or service sold.

life’s like minecraft. you set your own goals and then you pursue them.

without France EU would have no fangs what so ever.

could be, if he also made education free. since he is currently reversing the global brain drain by deporting immigrants. i don’t see what other next step he could possibly commit to unless he expects re-industrialization to just magically appear out of thin air.

you need payment security, scam insurance, and real identification. facebook has become a massive hotbed for scams because they have zero security measures and at least here scam reports to the police have increased by 349.75% because of facebooks lack of security and people sudden stupidity to choose facebook marketplace over the traditionally and known safe platforms.
one could argue that people using facebook marketplace over a safe platform deserves it. but its becoming a problem when everyone is moving their trade away from the other platforms in favor of facebook. likewise, it would be a huge problem for a fediverse based platform to compete with these services if it cannot provide a safe exchange.

So what you’re saying is, there is nothing wrong with attacking Russia as they consistently provoke other nations? Or is it simply that only Russia is allowed to invade and its the fault of the victim once they do?

at least they didn’t grow up with abundance, surplus salaries, post-war ideologies, and lead poisoning. so their terrible decisions are all of their own making.

Trump repeated his threat to put costly tariffs on BRICS, saying “we are going to put at least a 100% tariff on the business they do with the United States,” part of his economic plans that would overturn decades of free trade consensus.
It’s not a threat, he down right states that he is GOING TO put a minimum of 100% tariffs on BRICS and Spain. But as long as no one holds him accountable for all the spiel he spouts, he’ll keep on saying whatever he wants and get away with it because people don’t know how to act or assumes it’s just too stupid for him to follow through, until he does, and have no preparation to counteract his shit.
what? so there’s nothing wrong with centralized commercial services? please explain what’s good about ANY centralized commercial service.

I’ve been here for 5 years but the end of Apollo was the end of Reddit for me. Fuck that noise.

it to protect capitalism.
the swedish neoliberal government has defunded existing renewables like wind power and set into law that the government is not allowed to buy back the nuclear plants they are now funding with tax money for private enterprises. with the argument that renewable energy like solar, wind and water will break the economy because it runs in the negative with uncontrollable overproduction but nuclear power is a supply and demand resource based on fuel which will let the private owners maintain artificial scarcity to keep prices stable.

There is no algorithm spying on you across the web and recording your actions and behavior to try and force you to engage with an automated sub-optimal content stream, you have to manually curate your own (hopefully optimal) content stream, which you then engage with. That’s basically the difference between Mastodon and the rest of them.

I have been on Mastodon almost daily for 5 years, and I’ve got absolutely no idea how you have found “all the edgy fascists” on there. I mean sure, if your only experience is on truth.social i expect you’d see that type of content and nothing else. But besides truth.social, I don’t really know where you’d manage to dig it up. Must be hard work lol.

I keep extinct in the wild and critically endangered species of fish in my aquariums and am a member of a couple of fish focused associations who work with universities for the goal of preservation of species. been considering getting into red listed frogs and cactus, but the communities are smaller (so less access to species) and space is a premium when living in an apartment.
i wish there was more exposure of this hobby because it’s such an affordable, easy and “low effort” thing to do, but a lot of people who care about the environment and animals basically get offended when you keep animals “locked up” in an aquarium. in my opinion, serious aquarists (not the pet store furniture mentality) are invaluable, as a lot of species has been saved from extinction through aquarist efforts and university collaboration to reintroduce them to their native ranges after restoration work is completed (at least Lenoardo DiCaprio made a little bit of social media impact for one of the associations in 2022).
I should add, overfishing is not the leading cause for extinction in freshwater fish, it’s pollution from agriculture, as the vast majority of fish threatened with extinction have no utility to us (or bright enough colors to benefit the commercial pet trade - brightly colored species are generally not even found in the wild, and have their colors from decades of selective breeding by dedicated aquarists).
it seems like every government (and its citizens) in Europe can’t imagine being without: Microsoft services Google services Meta services Apple services
