come on, say it with me!
…just this guy, you know.
come on, say it with me!
in typical trump fashion - take a dump on the desk and walk out of the room. shart of the deal!
Hell yeah, I fucking nailed it
big oooof on the j-dawg and his tree.
but seriously, nice bit of ackchyually here.
we just have to get past the machine gun turrets and mechs. but, yeah… this feels like its gonna get really bad, really fast, on purpose.
was talking to a “non-political” associate today and he dropped a nugget about how the media is telling him the economy is slowly improving. didnt have time to ask what media he was consuming and I am not sure he would admit to watching fox (but I think he does). I reminded him that he just pulled his house off the market because of no interest. this entire country has become delusional.
yeah, this is purely preemptive to cast blame on powell as the entire us economy tanks.
as far as I am aware the feds focus is still entirely on trying to control inflation. what trump is demanding from powell would almost certainly lead to stagflation - economic contraction with increased inflation, and that is as bad as it sounds.
I dont think there is any better means to impoverish the general us population faster than trumps apparent “plan”. the wealthy, however, will be perfectly fine.
ever allowed your printer to update over the internet? chances are that same serial number attached to the printer, which is now encoded into your document, is now attached to an IP that can be meaningfully time/date attached to your e.g. cable modem MAC address which is attached to the location of the printer - at your house/work/etc… and thats just one publically known mechanism. if your printer is attached to a network with internet access, are you sure its never pinged the manufacturer? are you sure sure?
never underestimate the trail of digital forensics you leave behind when there is a sufficiently motivated adversary. seriously evaluate your risks and harm exposure and plan accordingly. just sayin’
there is a deep schism in this country and I barely understand approximately 20% of us. the attempt to dominate by tearing down the other, the desire to craft a zero sum game where there should be bounty for all. the adoration of cruelty and greed in those they empower to hurt others.
and then I see comments here, indeed many, that give me pause on my own downward spiral. people like you who are so obviously not… them. I dont know you, but I know that you and I are likely not enemies. you and I would likely bump shoulders, literally and metaphorically, holding the line against these people. and I have reason to not give up yet. neither of us are alone.
the value of a sitting us senator bringing back eyewitness reports. priceless.
this is for maga and the maga-adjacent. anything to shift focus from the truth of him being illegally shipped to a gulag. “oh, look! its a vacation”. anything to distract. fox news is going to be cashing in on this all day long on perma-repeat, just like calling him a “terrorist”.
maga folks are likely lost and unreachable in their hate-additiction. just keep reminding every non-maga person you know that this is a scripted trump show and the only reality is that a man was illegally ripped from his family, illegally removed from the country with zero due process and illegally sent to rot in a paid torture chamber, probably permanently. the courts all agree it was illegal and it will be illegal if/when trump continues to refuse lawful court orders.
of course. optics, optics, optics. we have seen the real photos, the headown frog marching, the packed cells. we know there was a shaved head under that ball cap. puppy killer ICE barbie and others have all done their photo ops.
the important thing is we know there is a live body to bring back. now we keep fighting for due process for each and every person trump has illegally shipped to hell. once they are adjudicated, then laws can be applied to each fairly.
there is a shift happening. things are bleak af for a while then, suddently all at once, something breaks. a us senator getting off his ass and getting proof of life on his constituent gives me, and I think many others, fire to keep on. these fascist fuckers are not inevitable.
fixing this absolute clusterfuck is going to take time and warm bodies on the streets and lawyers in courts in front of judges that uphold the constitution and members of Congress that tell the truth and a million acts of defiance across the country. its been happening and its getting bigger.
as has been said in other posts - please send a message of support to Sen. Van Hollen. my partner and I have done so and we are also sending a donation.
never forget this creature was begging for martial law.
as I pointed out, I am well aware of historical usage. we are not all the same person and do not all process things in the same way. I find ways to make it make sense for me because I know we are all different. I am trying to point out that, whatever your disposition, you can as well.
edit: just realized that you may not have seen the edits to my original comment. apologies if so.
upvoting because it needs discussion.
I have weird grammatical issues with they/them - I am old, its oddly strange (despite some historical precedent)to me and I dont like being told what words I use to describe the world around me.
so, I ask for a name. whatever name you give me, I use. tell me your name is “they”. cool fucking beans, its the name I use. I find a way to be respectful of another human being and still make it make sense to me. I make it fit into my small goddamn ancient cranium and when I, and other ancients like me are dead and gone, I hope those who come after have fewer “issues” with it.
if I can find ways to make it work then so can everyone else. tired of the right turning everyone into a real fucking snowflake. fuck anyone who chooses to divide people from people.
based on your comment history… its ok, you’re cool. :)
the neolibs scapgoat for a reason. they know that bidens fundamental betrayal of humanity sucked the soul out of left support for the dems. they literally beat the palestinians to death and then, with bloody hands, blamed those who turned away in disgust from the atrocity.
my family got off our asses and voted against fascism (that means voting for a deeply flawed harris) because we knew it would get much worse for everyone, not just already brutalized peoples - but I cannot stand here and judge anyone who could not stomach sanctioning more dem brutality under a deeply broken political system.
the effect of dem war barbarism may have been small but, combined with every other dem betrayal, it very well could have been the difference for a fascist win. the neolibs scapegoat to deflect their failures as human beings and their decades long capitulation to the intolerable.
having said that, I have seen more life in the traditional conservative republican of late ( @underwater@sh.itjust.works is an example) - even a momentary recognition of ideological failure on their part and a willingness to align with more progressive ideas. I have massive differences with so many conservative viewpoints, but they are not maga, have been thoughtful in their approach and, right now, I will take any productive and functional alliance I can get. if the unlikely aftermath of trump is a coalition of people willing to truly reform the barbaric, pseudo democratic american institution, then so be it. I am deeply sceptical that we will have the chance to get there.
sorry for the wall-o-text.
premium quality comment.
I am starting to think there was no “administrative error” here (but both malice and incompetence may apply). it is within reason to think that someone in the administration believed this guy was useful to prove the point.
Salvadorian citizen with a standing protective court order the administration could flout. ship him off to a Salvadorian torture prison and the whole thing becomes murky, messy, with enough blured lines to tie things up in knots while justice and fairness are given the middle finger.
regardless, I think we are now over the edge.
no defense of nyt, but there was milquetoast acknowledgment of due process and the desire of some to do away with it. it was couched as “who are we, really?”
certainly weak, but the background stories presented at least somewhat humanized the victims here and offered local, expert information showing how pathetically flawed “gang membership” determination is.
