Our election process sucks, but it’s not because of faithless electors. The vast majority of times it was because the candidate died before the election.
Since 1900, there have been only 16 faithless electors who defected for individual reasons
Learning foreign languages can definitely be a hobby.
I don’t know. I find it to be a helpful tool. There’s definitely times it’s wrong (very very wrong sometimes) and there’s sometimes it’s right. It’s up to the user to figure that out.
Maybe I’m old and cynical, but I don’t take anything I read on the Internet, especially something automatically generated, at face value. It’s just another tool I could use to help get to the answer I’m looking for.
If you’re using AI verbatim without looking up answers and verifying results, then that’s on you.
When you Google something, do you take the first result and just assume it’s fact? You shouldn’t for AI either.
Maybe you just need a Snickers?
All of the English teachers agree with him.
Wouldn’t reverse deportation be sending American citizens to a different country? TBH, there’s definitely cases I would at least entertain that argument.
It’s also a boomerish thing to say in general. I’m sitting here holding “foldable media”, my folding phone.
It’s super relevant in this case since they were shutdown for abusing the system and given warning that they decided to ignore while looking for a new provider.
Yea, that’s more or less the same cost a fully loaded i5 would be in the US. Works out to be about 15k more than the normal 5 series, more or less.
Currently only Ford and Rivian can use Tesla chargers in the US. BMW, Mercedes and a bunch of others have announced partnerships with Tesla late 2023 / early 2024 but they haven’t released the adapters or technically allowed to use it just yet.
I’m absolutely in love with the i7 (the 7 series in general), but the i5 is the closest I’ll get and even then it’s really hard to justify since I really don’t drive a whole lot.
It’s something I’ve been considering getting but the one thing that really gets me about it is it’s essentially an ICE car with its engine swapped out for a battery and electric motor. It’s so big and heavy.
I haven’t gotten to test drive one yet, so maybe it doesn’t feel as bad when driving. I know not really the same class (though surprisingly close in cost) but I’ve been leaning towards the mach e GT (one thing Tesla got right is their supercharger network and Ford can take advantage of that).
I’m also half hoping they come out with a sedan built from the ground up as an EV. I considered the i4, but at that price there’s a lot of great cars that would probably be better.
Did your company buy them or lease? I don’t think I can bring myself to actually buy an EV. I’m still not sure how the battery will be in 10+ years.
I don’t think the party can kick him out at this point. He won the nomination and has all the votes. HE has to drop out.
Bringing back a 2 week old comment but man were you scarily close to what Biden is proposing!

That definitely doesn’t fix the coalitions issue though. Any meaningful case is going to have every judge want to be involved and get split right down partisan lines (as much as I hate to say that, it’s been a proven fact over the past at least 8 years or so).
I kind of like the idea where they don’t get to pick their workload. It feels like they’ll have less opportunities to game the system.
That’s interesting. I wonder if there’s a way to codify it that only n justices can proceed over a single case. That also has the added bonus of allowing the court to hear multiple cases at the same time, reducing the backlog.
Like the justices are picked through lottery or something like that.
This is a really interesting approach, but do you see no problem with having that many justices? Would you keep the majority rules approach? Wouldn’t this more likely lead to collations within the justices?
I like the idea, but I’m not sure that many justices would make the bench better.
I’m not sure I like this thinking. It’s almost making an excuse for the shooter. They could have decided not to shoot at any point. The very fact they made it long enough to shoot with so many eyes on them shows they had a way out without dying.
I know it’s a weird argument considering your comment was really about something else, but assuming this was mental illness people have to know that it’s never too late. That they could always get help.
The new law requires either a birth certificate or passport to register to vote. A driver’s license or state issued ID isn’t good enough.
Lots of people don’t have passports (and they can take a LONG time to get) and don’t have updated birth certificates (mostly women since they’re the ones primarily to change their name).
