Can I get a reality check of why the approval numbers actually matter? Is it the midterms? He’s cemented power all over and is taking action basically without repercussion so what does an approval rating really affect?

Was the expansion of ICE under Biden connected to the centrist delusion that if democrats take these kinds of actions they will bring people from the far right to the left?

How can “zero tolerance” lead to a “stern warning”?

I hate headlines like this. There are like 3 million people living in Silicon Valley. How many of these billionaire investors want this to be a reality? 10?

I thought it was quite clear in the Atlantic article that there were references to undercover or active agents and that leaking that information would put them in danger. Also on another note I was thinking about today, am I crazy or did Trump leak some text or messages in his first administration that led to the deaths of active intelligence agents? I can’t seem to find anything about it.

Thanks for the detailed response! I thought it might be that supreme court decision but I wasn’t sure if I missed some other skullduggery.

I’m just saying that it scares me that we are all being pushed to the extremes; that I’m worried about what that means for us as a society. I’m also just trying to point out that these kinds of comments could be used against you, especially with someone in charge that has talked about going after his enemies.

EDIT: Also it really scares me how freely people discuss murder on Lemmy. Not just from a moral standpoint but also for you. I hope people consider the seriousness of these comments and that these comments can be used against you.
