Maybe return to your safe space?
Yes I read it. I just don’t think it significates.
Lol. Imagine being the last human. Living in a bunker. Facebooking with your “friends”
You don’t even want to see an experiment? But that’s the pudding.
But human moderators aren’t perfect either. And they are often biased.
Oh nice phrase. Synonymous with smugnorant.
Wisdom and ignorance look alike in that there is a dearth of uncertainty.
Well giving that power to a human isn’t so great either, clearly.
We already use text filters as a moderation bot. So we’re just looking at improving the bot.
Maybe we’re just looking for a way for the bot to recognize more complex patterns.
What if it worked 90%? It doesn’t need to be perfect, just better.
I’d like to see an experiment.
infinite_ass@leminal.spaceto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you feel about the level of censorship in your current instance ?31·4 months agoMy experience with it has always been “they don’t like me talking so they stopped me”. Pretty simple. I speculate that this is the general case.
But yes, I have encountered the odor of that second variety a few times. Just the odor tho. I am not one to restrain my speech for fear of offending. On social media anyway.
infinite_ass@leminal.spaceto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you feel about the level of censorship in your current instance ?4·4 months agoI’m thinking it’s just normal human power tripping. Which is why we need to find something better than the present system.

infinite_ass@leminal.spaceto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you feel about the level of censorship in your current instance ?3·4 months agoIs it because you are free to talk strange? Or is it because you don’t talk strange?
infinite_ass@leminal.spaceto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you feel about the level of censorship in your current instance ?62·4 months agoIt simply means that somebody stopped you from talking.
That’s it.

Creatures from another dimension did a demonic possession of the whole world population at once. Misjudged their ability to handle our genre of reality. All died from seizures. Except for the 1% who happened to use the same very expensive skin-care products that gave them an unexpected resistance to all that.

infinite_ass@leminal.spaceto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you feel about the level of censorship in your current instance ?7·4 months agoMost of us never say anything interesting enough to censor.
Most of the censoring is mob dogpiling.
But ya, I hate it.
And even if you don’t get censored, look at who you’re talking to. You’re trying to reach the 1 smart person in 1000.
What we need is the 1990s internet. A collection of niche communities. And the 99% stays way over there in facebookland or whatever they had back then.

AIs can be checked too. And judged, tweaked, etc. Obviously
Groups of moderators can be just as biased as individual moderators. More so even. Given the amplifying effects of echo chambers.
