Evidently, section3 of the 14th amendment doesn’t explicitly apply to US Presidents. It explicitly applies to any officers and military under the US government. I suppose legal types have to be quite specific in the basis for a ruling, if “any officers” doesn’t include the Presidency. Stepping back, it doesn’t make much sense that a President who incites an insurrection would NOT apply, but that’s how it was written back then.
I support the squad, and feel that they are the only ones in Congress that are even close to representing me. Powerful AIPAC and corporate billionaire money doesn’t like them, and will use their money to silence anyone who challenges their power.
But the MAGA House Republicans DO want a Government shutdown. We must face that basic fact. They are anti-government, so a government shutdown is exactly what they want. We must find a way to make a shutdown cost them something which they find important, or they will never try to work out a solution.

Those stories regarding killing babies have been shown conclusively to be false, and the journalists responsible have publicly retracted the statements and apologized for the disinformation.

The US State Department has a long-standing strong alliance with the Israelis. Billions of dollars of weaponry is sold to the Israeli military yearly, with a direct profit for the US defense industry.
The extreme right GOP wants to disable the Government. For them, this is not a bug, it is a feature. It will ensure that a budget is not passed in the upcoming budget expiration. At that point, not only will the congress be shutdown, but the government will be shutdown as well.
I don’t consider the Pentagon to be a reliable source for information when they have a vested interest in the conflict. Remember when they said Saddam Hussain had “weapons of mass destruction” which was used to justify the Iraq invasion? Well there never were any. The Pentagon manufactured that disinformation, and media parroted it like loyal puppets.

After hearing earlier in the week that Israel was demanding the evacuation of all hospitals in Northern Gaza, it was clear that this hospital was bombed as promised. Claims that Hamas did it are clearly diversionary propaganda.

I would like to see more concrete actions limiting corporate price-gouging, and not just words. Corporations aren’t going to do anything just because the president says “stop doing it”.
