2·10 months agoJournalists employers are all friends. This Makes it nearly impossible to for journalists in large orgs to stand up to oligarchs. Although it does make for great pageantry for non-billionaires.
Not all of us… I, and many others voted and organized against this.

Mostly true. ABC network does own licenses in some markets.
Trump or any other political figure can’t just pull a license for no reason though. FCC is pretty good about that

Yep yep the shit show we’re dealing with is the US is not just an executive branch government issue, even though it is the most pressing atm. It seems systemic throughout public and private sectors. We just can’t trust people to do the right thing without policy firmly in place on this issue.

I’d also like to add that no matter the person’s intent - power messes with people of all ages. There are so many people in government and the private sector that died in their appointed or elected seats.
Term limits are so very important to make our collective world better.

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. The Overton window has most certainly shifted more to the right/conservative side no matter who is in office over the last 40 years. Not totally - but definitely noticeably.
Agreed 100%. OTOH - keeping people engaged and thinking about these gross ethics violations are good for our elections. Republicans are winning the hearts and minds of the electorate as they up the ante on terrible acts. This will hopefully not let these assholes get off the hook.
Also… I don’t know this publisher’s ethics standards or motives. Just wishful thinking
