Oh that’s for sure a big expense for most people myself included but if you go to the open collective link above the estimated budget for lemmy.world this year is only 16k ish. and thats to host one of if not the biggest instance right now. if every user donated a dollar the instance could run possibly for years.

Thanks for asking this. This is something I’ve been serious about for awhile. Turns out while it’s expensive in the grand scheme of giant website it’s not that expensive money wise. Though it is very time expensive.

Yeah I have premium and every account I have that offers 2fa is set up but Lemmy will only let me set it up in authy or Google auth. It won’t give bitwarden as an option or give me the code to manually add it to bitwarden.

wait wait wait. how did you get lemmy 2FA into bitwarden. I can only get it to set up in authy or google auth

I had the same problem on the liftoff app. Had to delete the account then sign back in and everything worked perfectly again. Personally I also changed my password because it made me feel better.

Lemmynsfw.com is larger and I believe they allow just about anything consensual and legal.

PornLemmy.com is more into the vanilla things and is more heavily moderated in the communities and posts they allow there.

Yeah I use Bitwarden for all my passwords and 2FA I have Authy and Google Auth as well but bitwarden will auto copy my 2FA

I flip back and forth. Middle because I’m still building up my communities so I need to see everything to see what I care about.

As someone from lemmy.world this is good to know. I would love to set up 2FA on my account but I can only set it up on my phone and it forces me to open in an app I don’t want to use. Yay me. Glad I used a temp email and random password though. Off I go to change the password

Agreed I haven’t spent much time using Lemmy on an app but I’m hoping those can make it easier somehow atleast for mobile users.
