Most established hosters would be fearful to run an instance of peertube. Costs could balloon out of nowhere and would only increase with time. There is no way donations would keep up with costs, and charging to watch or a subscription would never take off.
Reddit is entirely a “normie” platform now. 6 years ago I was actually made fun of for using it, but now even my grandparents talk about it.

Can’t believe she jumped, never know who’s suicidal…

Digital footprit

Every platform and app I’ve seen does a piss poor job of explaining what federation is and how to sign up. “Wtf is mastodon.social?, Why is this one in German?, Why can’t I login after signing up?” New users just get confused and give up.
Those reports were both unsubstantiated by a 3rd party audit. Linus does not prefer profits over accuracy, when they received backlash for being inaccurate and rushing out videos they took a week off and reworked their system and have stuck to it. Gamers Nexus The people who predominantly called them out have done, and are doing the same things as LTT.
When their book bag carabiners were breaking they didn’t say “oh well”, and they shipped out replacement parts and gave them a $25. If they still weren’t happy they got a full refund. This does not sound like “corpa boss” to me. Now I can’t tell the future, but right now LTT is just fine.

Who is ‘they’, were to talking to that specific commenter for 2 years? Nope, but it’s only okay to generalize when you do it right?
Crap, I should be shutting the fuck up. God FORBID people don’t think exactly the same as you. Yep let me appease you aew360; Ukraine, Israel, lgbt, democrat. Phew hopefully we’re at peace now.

It’s incredible how disrespectful you had to word your reply to get your point across.

Crap, we’re actually supposed to read the article?

Firstly, WTF is LGBTAIQ2S+?. Secondly, I haven’t experienced any more bigotry here than I would on any other social media platform.

Just have to be patient while reddit continues to ruin themselves. They just got rid of ad personalization opt-out, what’s next?

Read more about it here. A reminder, if you can’t find the sample size then disregard the source.

Sample size isn’t the problem, claiming 0.0000035% applies to the other 99.9999965% is one however. All they need to do is add ‘surveyed’ after Americans and there would be no problem.

The poll of 1,165 adults was conducted Aug. 10-14 using a sample drawn from NORC’s probability-based AmeriSpeak Panel, which is designed to be representative of the U.S. population.
That shouldn’t be at the end of the article after I had to click on a separate article. Poor journalistic practices.
Yeah, it’s pretty simple.
Read the two sentence long descriptions on join-lemmy.org/instances and use the same username and password if you’re that lazy.

Yes because deepening the divide between political groups is the way to go.
Liberals: I’m better than you because I believe…
Conservatives: No, I’m better than you because I believe this…
And you know what? Nothing gets done and we’re stuck in an ever worsening situation. I’d be happy to discuss solutions.

Climate change is hitting close to home for nearly 2 out of 3 of the 1,285 people surveyed
Or
Climate change is hitting close to home for nearly 2 out of 3 people surveyed
Those are much more honest titles. I refuse to support media outlets that use tactics like this and I’ll call it out every time.
Yep I’ve already gotten a couple messages like this with an image of a random lady attached:
