I think it’s quite simple, really. In the absence of truth comes speculation. It’s not important who the “they” is and is irrelevant to the topic being challenged. What is important is to find a path to truth that can regain the public’s trust. “Extreme” transparency will now be required in order to regain that trust. As always the pendulum swings to great lengths and effectiveness.

Great article. The pundits that are “confused” about why all this is happening need to read this. Thanks for posting.

Interesting but too pro-Russian for me. They piss on Europe for arrogance of believing that freedom and democracy are a good thing. They espouse live and let live among nations, like if a country wants to be a corrupt communist dictatorship then other countries should be ok with that and look the other way while continuing trade and cooperation. This is the general tone I took from it although there were offsetting points to make it a more balanced discussion.
Edit: I couldn’t even finish it when they started talking about how Europe has been the one to not want to work with Russian universities, completely washing over the fact that since the Russian revolution that country has been steadily more protectionist and adversarial. These guys are fucking morons.

Great piece, thanks.

Smart thinking. All the best in your new life. Germany and europe should be booming for the next few years so hope you can take advantage. Cheers

Where are you heading, if I may ask. Is this something you’ve been thinking about for a while or just with recent developments? I’m very disappointed that Canada didn’t immediately start publicly inviting STEM people north and spending lots to create openings and programs.

That covers some Chinese departures over a period prior to trumps policies but there are a lot more nationalities to cover and more recently I would expect the number to increase substantially. Thanks for the info though. I’m sure there’s more movement to come.

Are they though? I haven’t seen many stories about it but would entirely expect this to be the case. Especially because many are suddenly unemployed.

If the choice is having them help your “enemy” or subjecting them to personal trauma, which do you think they’ll choose?

How long before they’re not allowed to leave?

I’m against child quotas but for education on what exactly population growth and shrinkage entails. Let people understand what the implications and solutions are for the various scenarios of the future. Ultimately I see a profound lack of hope for our futures is leading young people to not want to bring a child into the world older generations have built. I am with them 100%. A solution I have introduced in previous discussions is a suicide pill that any elderly that can no longer be supported by society could take to avoid and painful and lonely death. That has not gone over well, lol.

I’m not a bigot at all. I’m only questioning how practical mass immigration is in the modern age.

What will they do when violence begins in the west? Run away again?

I saw that but the article also listed many recent attacks that were the case.

Unfortunately and as with everything, the actions of a few cause a reaction that affects so many. The rise of the right has been driven primarily by immigration of people looking for the promise of democratic freedom and opportunity. These incidents are used to prevent this migration entirely.
Is this right? Should people have a right to migrate in hopes of a better life? Some you might identify as far left don’t feel boarders should exist at all. Others believe that borders should be sealed and only people who would benefit the society within should enter (sadly based on the colour of their skin as well). The obvious answer is that the best practice probably falls somewhere in the middle.
I have two takes on this. The first is that immigration should be ended as we are entering the end of our societies ability to support existing populations with food and shelter, due to climate change. The second is that regardless of circumstances, never flee your country if you don’t like what’s going on. Fight to change it, even if you have to die trying. That is what I plan to do.
Chasing a buck is not a crime. If your government places specific sanctions to represent disapproval of a country then it can be. Ultimately there are people that care enough to remember these comedians transgressions and remind the world as appropriate. Chase a buck if you want but every action someone takes can have unforseen consequences. Time will tell.
