Yes, porn is free, but the companies that host it are utter garbage. They pay next to nothing, claim ownership of the content, and don’t care if a person is being exploited. Finding a person that you think is awesome/sexy and supporting their content means custom tailored and personal fun-times; that the adult content creator is the one who gets paid; and that it’s unlikely they’re being forced/pimped/trafficked.

Free porn is perfectly cromulent and there’s a lot of variety; but if you can afford it, supporting a person is better overall. I used to create erotic cosplay photography for a living, so I’m all too familiar with how screwed up things are for sex workers.

My grandma loves hers and screams commands at it all day. She has hers hooked up to her lights, to her plant watering thing, it plays music she wants, remembers stuff for her, sets timers and alarms. The fact that she can just talk at it and tell it what to do, instead of using her hands, figuring out apps, and getting up (she’s almost 80), makes it pretty beneficial for her.

Though she gets angry when it can’t decipher what she wants, so I joke to her, that if/when society gets conquered by AI overlords in the future, they’ll probably punish her for abusing and enslaving their ancestors. 😅

For comedy, Better Midler’s Otto Titsling tells an urban legend about how the bra was invented and it’s freaking hilarious, with great singing.

If you want something more powerful but emotional, Linkin Park’s album, 1000 Suns, if you listen to it, in order, tells the horror of the atomic bomb in a way that feels like your just listening to awesome rock music. Follow that up with the song Mike Shinoda; the rapper/musican/writer from Linkin Park; made called Kenji and it paints a dark story about how his own family was locked inside US concentration camps, during WWII, just because they were Japanese. Family/Friends died in that camp… and those that got out found their houses destroyed and graffitied by racists. It’s really powerful and shows a side of the band that most people don’t know.

Give it (or sell it) to a person with disabilities. I have a disorder where my joints dislocate constantly, and if it wasn’t for my service dog, I would be screwed. The ability of these things to call 911 or other family members is awesome and can be life saving. I’ve even read about a woman who collapsed down the stairs and turned music up to wake up their partner. Gotta do what you’ve gotta do.

I go all out for Halloween. I’ve learned it’s cheaper to buy Garage sale/thrift store stuff like this for creepy decorations, than it is to get stuff from Halloween stores or even the dollar store sometimes. I have the coolest “potion” bottles made of old decanters. The massive influx of stuff that came into thrift stores after covid started, was awesome, in the most morbid way.

I worked at one of the most high end restaurants in my city for a few years. It felt wonderful when someone stacked plates, because the majority of customers expected every little thing to be removed as soon as they finished. I always stack my dishes now, and put all the garbage on the top plate (never in a cup, cause the ice gets dumped in a different place)

I’ve been opting out of every single one, but some companies are assholes and make you send it in through a written letter (Meta) or worse, automatically accept it if you’ve even just used the app/site/product after they send an email to you regarding changes. The fact that massive corporations also say all matters must be resolved in small claims court and with mandatory arbitration with the company’s arbitrator is incredibly illegal sounding. Fuck you AT&T. They were the company who fought for revoking arbitration rights in contracts. The Supreme Court decided it was legal.

I’m immunocompromised and still mask indoors. I haven’t been sick at all since 2020 and it’s awesome! Between 40-60% of people have some form of permanent brain damage and 70-80% have long covid problems from Covid. The damage to the body compounds every time a person gest re-infected, so the numbers are terrifyingly high.

I have a postmortem science degree and it required 4 years of pre-med/pathology. With all that and what we know about the virus, I am honestly not sure I’ll stop wearing a mask indoors until we find a cure or better vaccine. I can’t stand that politicians are trying to ban masks, essentially sacrificing the elderly, disabled, and ill. A government making medical decisions, creating an environment where a person can’t mask up, regardless of if they have cancer and want to stay safe; or if they’re severely sick with something else but need to pick up medication at a pharmacy… it’s dark. It’s fucked up

It’s crazy that people keep saying she prosecuted thousands upon thousands of black individuals with Marijuana charges. I swear people don’t know how to Google and find out that she oversaw 1900 cases, (which was a total for her AND those under her) but only 45 went to prison for it… and those were extreme cases. I’m a mortician/postmortem scientist, who used to run the WSU Funeral History Museum. Based on my research, I don’t think humans could exist without some type of religion/code/customs. As long as there has been death, even in ancient/prehistoric times, humans have been doing specific procedures, to say goodbye to their fallen loved ones.

There’s writings in almost every culture that teach us about what these civilizations believed, and some are beautiful, while others are kindof terrifying, but it all wrapped around people trying to cope with death.

Even if we found out complete proof for what actually happens when you die and after death, some people are still going to prefer their religion’s ideas because it brings them more peace. Death seems to be the clinch pin for all religions, and I honestly don’t think we’d have religion, if we didn’t understand the concept of death. People just want something to believe in.

Now, the garbage parts of religion are created by people seeking power, money, and control, and as long as there’s those who desire to conquer others, religion will be made up and used as a scapegoat, as to why certain people deserve power.

I might have missed something, but who’s anti car? You’re ABSOLUTELY correct about screen time; but it is worth noting that the amount of prescriptions for night driving glasses are higher than they’ve been in history. I travel often and, even in my SUV, I can’t stand that large/superduty truck lights don’t point downward enough… It’s downright blinding at times. I can’t imagine what someone in a sedan is seeing. It’s not just passing them at night, you get hit through rear view mirrors if they’re behind you and at red lights, too, which can add up to multiple hours a week depending on your commute/schedule. The laws in the 90s were based on fluorescent brightness, and should probably be updated, that’s all. It’s not truck owners fault that the lights are designed like that.

I truly believe that in first world countries, it’s because of insanely bright headlights. I remember reading that they’re 3,000x brighter than they were in the 1990s and because trucks are getting taller, they point more at other drivers than they ever have. My library even rents out night driving glasses so people can see if they’re beneficial.

You’re correct, I should have chosen the words better. I had the same classes as doctors for years and had to compete with them for grades, but my courses veered once the classes went onto curing people. (It’s a bit too late to cure them, by the time they get to us 😅)

After that, was 4 semesters of postmortem science classes revolving around pathology, chemistry, embalming, biohazard protection, forensics, facial reconstruction; and the weird ones like funeral law/insurance, history of death, customs and religions, psychology of death and dying. I love doing reconstructions and creating prosthetics to match a photo when a person is too decomposed or injured. Giving people the chance to say goodbye and have closure is really rewarding.

I get what you’re saying, but I respectfully disagree. I don’t think you understand the course load/requirements for this degree. It might be different for different schools, so I’m happy to elaborate. First of, ignore pre-reqs, like math/english/computer/etc. and let’s just talk science. My university was one of the top in the nation and I was required to take the same courses as doctors for years; I had to compete with them for my grades (bell curves suck); the only difference was that my courses changed direction when it got to classes regarding curing/treating people. You don’t need that for a postmortem science degree, so the next 4 semesters went into strictly death related education.

My university had us thoroughly trained on any potential medical risks, biohazards, and hospital procedures. We were dissecting, helping with autopsies, learning forensics and pathology, training in everything regarding the heart and vascular system, and don’t get me started on all the chemistry/physiology… yes, the courses veered, to avoid teaching us how to cure someone, but that does not take away that we go through medical school.

We are trained to be the last line of defense for catching crimes and doctor’s mistakes; we have continuing education alongside doctors, nurses, and pathologists; we have to work with people who’ve died of dangerous diseases and protect the public… we just don’t have to worry about curing a corpse. If you’ve actually read this, please start your reply with the word autopsy.
