This has really been the obvious problem with the Democrats and their voice-pieces. “We just need a liberal Joe Rogan” or “We just need to get as good at messaging as Mamdani”. All of the Democratic consultants and proponents think that what you believe or stand for doesn’t matter, as long as you focus group the exact phrasing or pitch right or find a more convincing mouthpiece.

Maybe the problem is that the Democrats believe in nothing, will fight for nothing, nor want to accomplish anything. They just think that they can be vacuous empty suites and as long as they can accurately focus group their phrasing they will be able to win. And actually having beliefs and principles hurt you, because maybe not 100% of people would agree with them.

The US only has a far-right party and a further right party. When has the Democrats ever advocated for anything at all left of center, other than Bernie’s Medicare for All, which since most nations on earth have some government provided healthcare, is more centrist, than center-left.

The Democrats never actually opposed fascism, they just invoked it because they knew it was unpopular. The problem of the Democrats is that you can’t constantly run on things you have no intention of following through on, without having voters stop believing you eventually.

The unfalsifiable orthodoxy. Moving to the far-right and appealing to moderate Republicans win elections. If a Democrat wins, it proves that this works, if a Democrat loses, they just hadn’t moved far-right enough.

IDK, if it were Iraq levels of stupidity, the Democrats would become completely on board. This is a rare break with imperialism, because, also, Democrats usually would be on board with any support of fascism in Latin America (e.g. Pinochet, Operation Condor, etc.). We are finding extremely rare exceptions to right-wing stupidity that the Democrats wont agree and sign-off on.

Democrats aren’t generally pro taxing the rich or deviating significantly on many issues since Clinton and the 90s. Yes, some of the squad said that they were pro-taxing the rich when they knew that there was no possibility of it being brought to a vote and the Democrats maintained a pretend opposition to the extreme violations of civil rights in the war on terror or ICE deportations. But after Obama, the most extreme and worst excesses of the war on terror were bipartisan, and after Biden all ICE and immigration policies were fully bipartisan (he continued the obviously facetious use of COVID as a terrible, contagious disease to deny asylum seekers, just as Trump did, after saying COVID was over, and continued deportations and putting immigrants in ICE concentration camps, when 4 years prior Democrats could understand that was fascist). That is why the left hates Democrats. Because the two-party system means the Democrats can absorb all opposition to the Republicans, while continuing all of their policies and claiming that wanting any movement to the left/away from fascism is only helping the Republicans. That we should just continue the Republican’s policies, but it is fine because Obama is going to file the paperwork correctly to send Arabs to blacksites or Biden is going to file the paperwork correctly to do ICE deportations at a greater rate than Trump [term 1] or genocide in Gaza. The Democrats are above criticism and should be allowed to do fascist immigration policy or genocide.

AOC obviously didn’t get the message. The Democrats have completely given up on the Kafabe of pretending to be an opposition party.

The liberal opposition is that, lacking a positive position or vision, liberalism needs a new Cold War to define themselves purely in opposition to other nations. Russia and China are not formally aligned, but they are willing to work together and increase trade with each other out of mutual ostracization and opposition to US demonization. Same reason Iran and North Korea are in the same axis of opposition, purely allied out of mutual interest in resisting US opposition, than any other mutual ideology or interest.

The Tariffs are still harmful to China, it is an export economy. Yes the US firms pay it, but it drives up the cost and therefore reduces sales of the products, so it is still harmful to China, even if it is still not how Trump implied it works, with the Chinese government just paying money out of their treasury or whatever. Trump started the banning of TikTok in his first term. Again, he is really incoherent and stupid, and probably backing off due to his supposed support amongst internet media.

Ah yes, cutting social spending and (Bill Clinton actually did do) deregulation means that Bill Clinton “empowered” government. Republicans would never reduce social spending and regulations. Even if it reduced the deficit, and increased the police and military. That is totally different that what Republicans would support.
