Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•What's the worst spelling you've seen?
21·7 months agoI don’t have an issue with that depending on where you are. It’s a nice name but lends itself well to a shortening of nahzee. In my area of the US and in the UK they often pronounce Nazi as Naht-zee so I don’t think it’s as bad as it could be.
I’ve read through this whole thread three times and just cannot make sense of it. I have no idea how anyone could contest that people do in fact do what you’re describing, I think you described it humorously and I don’t get the contention of you calling them ghoulish, it’s a reasonable description to describe the degeneracy. Maybe they think you’re being too mean? Honestly not sure but wanted you to know you’re not the only one confused.

15·11 months agoA few weeks ago Georgia (the state) got an inch and a half of snow and the whole state shut down for two days. It’s for the best honestly no one has snow tires or snow driving experience, and very few places store salt for the roads. It used to only snow every couple years and that’s turned into about 1 in 5 now so it’s best to just shut down for a bit tbh.
What did you do to make your car funny?
I’m from the Bible belt and in my experience these people absolutely believe in God and heaven, but probably very little past that. These people mostly have a “vibes based” understanding of their religion but many of them believe it to their absolute core. Most don’t read the bible past the popular verses and even less actually analyze what the text is saying, but that by no means indicates a lack of belief. It’s important to remember that their actions may indicate a lack of belief in the morals they espouse, but that’s cognitive dissonance not secret non-belief.
Love some beamng, keep it coming!
Betraying my age but Ratchet and Clank on the PS2. Great game still definitely holds up, even graphically to some extent.

politics @lemmy.world•‘I love my little town’: A 21-year-old in Georgia is the youngest woman mayor in US history
1·1 year agoI agree that having a 21 year old mayor is crazy, but I think you’re misunderstanding the context here. There are no HOAs within 20 miles of this community. It’s incredibly rural, with most houses “in town” being on plots of at least half an acre. Most of the residents live outside of that area and are on significantly larger plots of land. It seems like the community just really liked her dad and decided to stay with what they know, or at least the closest thing to that.

7·1 year agoI have family that lives about 50 miles from this town. It’s a drive through town with ~500 residents, the biggest businesses are Dollar General and Wendy’s. I would be shocked if there were any substantial donors to her campaign
Sounds like life’s going great for you then, keep it up. No need to fix what isn’t broken.
I kind of like the size to be honest, feels more like I’m having an impact by commenting instead of just getting added to the bottom of a 2000 comment post. I never really commented on the other site for that reason.

Best I can do is a guy I went to school with who had a big following on Music.ly which later turned into tiktok. He got famous when he was singing and dancing in front of his dying grandmother… Here’s a link
I’m a big car guy so I typically use car makes and models but never ones I actually own, usually I’ll go with some like SubaruImprezaWrxSti2012 except I scramble the order of the words and throw the year in a random position. This is really easy to remember while also being long and insane enough to be difficult to guess.
