most of them are trans. nobody is outraged. they just have jk blocked on twitter. they’re still potter fans.
there’s an obsessive hate in a lot of trans communities that nobody talks about. the “you like this book series so you’re a terf!” type mentality is really tiresome.
right? there’s more outrage than is really worth it. just don’t participate in it if you don’t like it. instance blocking is a thing now on lemmy I’m fairly sure.
it’s why I’ve stayed since the initial huge migration from reddit. I find myself caring more about interacting with other commenters.
I never did that on reddit because comment sections just kinda felt like battlefields or playgrounds rather than discussions.

I think I’m at a point where I don’t care what appeals to kids. I shouldn’t have to miss out on stuff I like cause a kid “could” be interested in a flavor I also like.

That’s on the kid’s parents. not me. I’m a legal adult and I showed my ID and bought my stuff. Parents need to be present if they don’t want their kids hooked on stuff. And keep their kids outta adult spaces.

In my opinion, it’s more of a lab type word when talking about biology or anatomy.
But it’s not actually all that offensive. Women have so many negative terms used to describe us already. Female can stay neutral. And I will continue to use it.
