Harris was a week candidate from the start. She dropped out of the primary in 2020 with only 3% support and then got the VP nom.

He acts like they did. So a guy trying to run 3 companies at the same time would presumably use amphetamines to have the time. You can go for days without sleeping.

The more countries that take concrete action against us that actually hurt us the more likely congress and the voters are to stand up to Trump.

Neat. I know almost nothing about the the Higgs field.
Because this is a science thread I’ll be a bit pedantic. Mostly because I think it’s an interesting topic. It’s a mass-energy equivalence (≡) and not just an equality (=) they are the same thing.
So it’s meaningless to say convert mass into energy. It’s like saying I want to convert this stick from being 12 inches long to being 1 foot long.
You can convert matter (the solid form of energy) into other types of energy that are not solid. But the mass stays the same.
It’s like when people say a photon is massless. It has energy and therefor mass. It just has no rest mass. So from the photons frame of reference no mass but from every other fame of reference there is mass.
My old school had a scale model of the solar system. It used the same scale for the planets size and distance. The sun was a 12" ball on one end of campus. Around campus were poles with little glass domes on top inside were tiny pins with little planet models on them.
So humans vision is much more sensitive to green than other colors. it’s why camera sensors are 50% green 25% red 25% blue. Which makes sense as being able to detect small differences in plant cover is useful in both detecting predators and prey.

If humans had more flat color detection range we woulda actually be able to see that the sky is purple and not blue.

Young guy who claimed progressive values. Creepy vibe.
I looked him up after and he had a failed bid as a republican congressman one state over. Republicans are trying to sneak in their own into democratic primaries and it’s working.

Hugin@lemmy.worldto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I liked Star Trek before it got woke. /s3·3 months agoYeah the problem isn’t the ideals being in there but how bad the story is makes the ideals seem like a cheap crutch.
Compare Brokeback Mountain to Ben and Arthur. Both movies about the relationship between gay men and society. Both say gay people should be treated fairly by socity but aren’t. The first does it in interesting way with great storytelling and ideas. The later is a hamfisted mess.
I’m not going to say modern Trek is Ben and Arthur bad but it is much closer to Ben and Arthur writing then it is to Brokeback Mountain.

A conservative democrat took the seat for two terms. Then my are got packed into a democratic strong hold.
I now have one of the most progressive representatives in the house. I like him a lot better then my old rep but would rather have the 2 democratic votes in the house like before.

The hope was republicans would hedge their bets and confirm him. Getting a guaranteed pick they liked in place of a possible Trump pick.
After Trump won Democrats should have dropped Garland like a ton of bricks. Instead they did what they usually do and went all on one their failed compromises position after Republicans failed to compromise.

There’s no one like you in my ass.
