“Not all men” agreed, but enough to men to make others afraid.

GlenRambo@jlai.luto 3DPrinting@lemmy.world•Do I *need* to learn a 3D modeling software?English11·6 months agoGimp and PS made no sense to me. Ive learnt $d modling over time and don’t it fairly easy.
Started with Tinkercad. Its fine for the basics. Square plus circle minis triangle etc. It dosnt have a timeline or parametric though, so small changes are pretty hard.
Mixed to fusion360. Free if you can navigate the site. Heaps of tutorials non lone and really solid to. Basically draw in 2d and extend. Draw in 2d and cut. Heaps non other use full ways to modify things too. Its parametric so you can say one side is X long. And change X and the model will scale.
Focus on the 2d shapes, fully constraining them and making them simple.Moved to Onshape. Its not got the 10active models that fusion has. And runs (surprisingly well) in browser. i can jump on any PC (work cough) and make edits. The tools (for most people) are on par with fusion and I found it more initiative.
Watch heaps of builds on fusion and you’ll get the just pretty quickly.
There was some drama recently with Bitwarden. They sorted it out now but it nearly became enshitified.
No logo in the foam.
Hans would have used Lemmy.

GlenRambo@jlai.luto Fediverse@lemmy.world•What the fediverse needs is....CIRCLES!English2·8 months agoI like the idea. In regards to lemmy and its instances (so I guess a smaller Scale to what your suggesting … Though I still don’t fully get the fediverse).
I did something similar when picking a Lemmy instance. What was the instance that had defederated others the least. There was a git page somewhere that listed them all.
On the flip side I’ve heard a notion that no one single instance should become the “main” instance. Probably with your suggestion new users would gravitate to the big circle. Thus making it the “default”. But maybe it’s different when looking outside of lemmy instances to the wider fediverse.
There’s no way he didn’t hear that. Imagine if he just took a quick piss.
Im fun at parties.

Any recommendations for sub 10min podcasts? I have a short commute and put it on 1.3 speed to get a dialy radio show.
I already have DW News, Tech News Briefing, Marketplace Tech, and a few like Male Your Damn Bed/Arnold’s Punp Club.
Can always do with more.

GlenRambo@jlai.luto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Are there any legal issues recreating YouTube SponsorBlock for Podcasts?2·1 year agoIve seen sponsor block for YTb added to a few different playes. It sesms it operates moren like a DB that other clients can hook into. So OPs idea wouldn’t need to be a new podcast player exactly.
Try DW news. I’ve found it fantastic. Also just as good for written news.
This just hit me.
How long until governments create email accounts or digital identities (I mean they already have the latter). Then they force social media platforms (who n turn force users) to use/link that as age verification and content blocking.
