Yea, me watching it so many ywars after it came out definitely colored my opinion. Its like that with many “first” movies, from Tron to Metropolis, that the original appeal decreases as the motives and filmmaking techniques arent as new anymore, because of those movies. One would have to watch “generic” movies from that year to really apprechiate the innovative parts which then got replicated over and over.
I mean, I get both. Sometimes it felt more like a documentary whith grand and cinematic images of the city and few spoken words, I can apprechiate that, altho its not what I am looking for in a movie.
I suspected that he is supposed to not really show emotions, to show how he is trained/at the “baseline” and how he is not quite human. But I couldn’t see a gradual/fine development nor “hidden” or suppressed emotions behind his cold pokerface. (Apart from the one moment at the memory girl’s)
Just watched both bladerunner movies (idk which versions of them) and was rather underwhelmed. The cinematic grand setpieces i can apprechiate and see how they can be captivating for some but the story (or bith of them rather) wasnt very good imo. The worldbuilding is ambitious but the logic behind everything is lacking. Its just not “realistic” enough for me. I get thats sci-fi but for me it feels more like a fantasy movie like idk avatar or harry potter, rather than sci-fi which is supposed to play in our world/universe but with advanced tech. Things like not being able to distinguish replicants (first movie I just didnt buy. And then in the second one there is a gadget that can do just that.
And also Ryan Gosling played pretty badly (maybe it was the script), no emotions, (almost) no storytelling in his mimic, emotions, in his character at all. He is almost like a wax figure, during watching I multiple times had to pause and complain to my co-watcher about his performance, as it too was unrealistic and too stoic for my taste

Maybe its an old tradition. But I was shocked by how deadly being pregnant and giving birth (to the mother and the child even moreso) is, still to this day. I thought we solved childbirth or something.

One does not simply “block fingerprinting”. Fingerprinting is incredibly complicated and very hard to avoid. You need VPN, Browser with no extentions and fixed windowsize (tor or mullvad), frequent cookie deletion, even the installed fonts/language packs can give them identifiers…

I mean that may well be that I havent heard of “those” feminists, altho I hear about many things feminists here (in Switzerland) push for. I read the demands of every feministic protest for example and never was there one of the points I mentioned.
I think your comment sounded like victim blaming to me. For example:
Men die (more) in suicides. Feminists (mostly women) fight against the patriarchy, which is a product by men. If the higher suicide numbers is because of the patriarchy, then “its their own fault”.
Thats why I see things like “the patriarchy” or categories like “the men” or “the feminists” very critically as it generalizes too much.
And back to the OP: I dont think that a dedicated “minister for women” can or will help in men-issues, because I don’t believe the logical detour via the patriarchy makes sense. One would have to fight the misandrist laws like the army draft (here in switzerland its mandatory for men but voluntary for women) directly and not shadow-box ““the patriarchy””.

It all being part of the patriarchy is maybe true if you want to look at it in this perspective. But I am of the opinion that most of those points would not majorly improve even if feminists would have total political control for the next 10 years.
Because feminists stand up for the rights of women. Which is totally important and good. But will not automatically improve the lifes of men, because its not the aim of most feminists.

Theoretically unions are unionized workers who represent all workers. So they should do surveys from time to time about what the current concerns of the workers are.

In the US, yes. In Germany, Switzerland and every other country with a good election system there are many different parties so you can just vote for the greenest (or the literal “Green party”).
