Are you saying we need our Citizen’s United?!

Are you saying we need our Citizen’s United?!

This sounds a lot like gripes that older generations have always had about younger generations.
But this younger generation is the youngest one yet!

Thank you for your wisdom, Comrade Shark Fucker.

Yeah. I just mention it because I’ve generally just used VNC myself; and wondered what the fuss with fancier tools was about.
But then I realized home Internet has getting worse for some folks, and so folks might be using a service to get VPN-ed together, or whatever.

I’m also a big VNC fan, but I imagine RustDesk is solving for CGNAT better? I’m not aware of anything in VNC that solves CGNAT being a PITA.

Except there’s no non-wildcard Republican candidate.
They’ve cracked the formula for telling their voter base that this time will be different and anti-establishment.
While the Democrats have solved for how to exhaust their voter base patience. (Bombing innocent people in other countries.)
Approval based voting is the only way the Democratic party remains a player in American politics.

How does this compare to first past the post? Does it make any difference in outcomes?
Yes. It may be the only chance American Democrats have of winning any future elections.
The next wildcard candidate will attract a bunch of votes, while a Democrat who stands for shitty compeomises could still get a “better than the other asshole” approval vote.

Perhaps it’s just me, but to me this article feels like belittling the problem by not differentiating between “hated” products and “harmful” products.
Exactly!
Hated product? Oh well. My paycheck still cashes.
Harmful product? Oh shit. Sorry boss. I’m still working on that. It’s been confusing, but we almost got it. Annnyyyy day now, boss. Pretty sure we will get it on track next sprint. Or the one after. (Source: I once got well paid to “accidentally” kill at least one truly shit-head idea. It probably cost me a pay raise, but I left soon after for more money, and I’m still proud of that every time I reflect back on it.)
I tolerate continued existence out of a morbid sense of curiosity.
That’s beautiful, in it’s own way.
I felt that way at one point. It led me, eventually, to moments that I later decided mattered very much, to me.
If I hadn’t had that morbid curiosity, I’m not sure I would have made it to those moments I now cherish.
Here’s to morbid curiosity!

I expect that’s why the internet’s been falling apart lately.
I’m sure it is.
It’s been interesting to see people not really getting angry about it, yet.

That would be one hell of a recruiting move, for any deity that feels low on converts.

Worth adding - let’s all shop from unionized businesses whenever possible. There’s strength in solidarity.

Or do I just have a really weak electric stove?
I think you might just have a really weak one, or poor compatibility pots? I’ve had both, and if anything my gas burners feel a little slower and cooler than my induction stove did.

The answer is 2.
Cling to known humans who write their own code.
Snake oil salesmen always encourage the public to bet against the experts, with predictable results.
Someday ethically sourced AI can be used responsibly by trustworthy coders.
But the key is choosing to collaborate with trustworthy coders.

I’m with you.
Thankfully, corporate bullahit isn’t the only way to create a discovery algorithm.
I expect that we will have a diverse set of discovery algorithms available to opt into here, in a few years.

Thanks!

Jeff Bezos never smashed the window on my car to steal my speakers,
True.
he doesnt come out vandalising public transport or parks and he isnt the reason my wife doesnt feel safe walking around at night.
If we could even comprehend the scale of his unpaid taxes, or their impact on our parks, we might discuss this at length…

Is also very very queer tho JSYK
That could be our new Lemmy slogan.

There’s a couple of them, I think.
I found this one:
