Scientists just looked back at what may have killed St. Matthew's reindeer herd and found some interesting possibilities.

      Collapse is the result of overshooting the ecosystem carrying capacity. 8 billion people exist because of fossil fuels. Now we are running out of them while degrading our environment which is causing global harvest failures.

      We are a lot like these deer.

        It was interesting to notice that the overshoot has just made three population fragile. They were almost killed by “category 3 hurricane strength” winds and a -75°F extreme weather event.
