Making a complex underground bunker inside of a mountain with a big automatic redstone door. is always the “go to” base for me. Makes me feel like a super villan on modded id always look for volcanos for the same reason.
Exactly this, but I’m modded Minecraft you can usually also just camouflage a door. The only tricky part is if you need a garden; some mods support camouflage glass but I usually just have a subtle hole in an inconspicuous place.
