  • He’s lived in a lot of houses over the years including a college house. So we invited all his friends from college for his 18th birthday. He always seemed oddly comfortable being surrounded by lots of people and a little chaos. So I think he appreciated getting to see a big group of his friends after having graduated college.

As for camping, we booked a little cabin in the woods. The cabin had electricity and an ac, but no running water, if that gives you an idea. So it was a camping, but comfortable enough for him to like it, aka glamping. Initially he seemed confused being in a new place, but after a couple hours, he was very excited by all the nature around him. In his old age, his top speed was very slow, so we could let him explore a little without him running off.

It’s cloud services, not things being web based. It’s capitalism hijacking technology and preventing you from owning anything. Figma runs in the browser and it’s a fantastic piece of software. But it’s also a cloud service that can be taken away from you at any point. But if you subtract the business model, the fact that you can run something like that in the browser is incredible. Web makes it so incredibly easy to distribute cross platform software. FOSS should embrace it and use it to build actually good software not all this SASS garbage.
