Llms do create a lot of slop code thats for sure. Makes me want to get off github.

It would be a killer feature for us in the fedi. :)
Peertube is awesome, but more alternatives in the space would be welcome.

Theres a reddit community for that. Litterally !reddit@lemmy.world
Thanks! I personally think as long as people land in the fediverse, its going to be ok. But its cool to give some highlights to piefed.
Also congrats on making a “controversial” post! Thats how you know its good :D
Yeah I agree, its all the same TBH.
Because it would address what you talk about above. You dont like it, fix it. Ive done it on quite a few fedi services, its not terribly hard. It makes the world just a tiny bit better.
Create a PR and fix it.
It took 2 days for a PR to go though on piefed. It was a great experience.
Reading the code is VERY easy, even compared to other projects. I was able to get it up and running in about 30 mins with very little knowledge of the project. The “filters” are all optional on the admin side and instances can and have modified them to suit their needs.
Congrats @rimu@piefed.social ! Your project has gained “controversy”, the main way you can tell its getting successful 😁.

Yep i agree. Although it sounds like its trivial to break lora/tastic encryption from what was discussed online. Ill be honest i never went down that rabbit hole.

Agreed. Im tired after work. Debian/yunohost is good enough.
At work its hundreds of docker containers but all ci/cd takes care of that.

I just have yunohost do like 90% of the work nowadays. My day job is docker/cli so the last thing i want to do is more of it.

If there is an actual emergency, I would say these are a nifty introduction to ham radio.

Its amazing how far you can go with a somewhat simple setup. You can go really cheap with a Baofeng.

Just FYI at the speed meshtastic/core is talking about, it would be very slow. Like dialup would look fast.
But its a fun hobby! Take a look over at !meshtastic@mander.xyz for anyone interested. Meshtastic (and meshcore) are also SUUUPER alpha so dont expect anything polished.

Its all good. I was looking for something that could work with both :)

Take a look at !meshtastic@mander.xyz if your interested in mesh!

What is meshnode?

Same. And you can pay years in advance.

Big old flash drive.
I mean you can …but its gonna be slop.
