Make a new account on Reddit, and you soon learn that votes (and therefore karma points) do matter. Even the karma in one subreddit can be relevant, so older accounts joining subreddits need to be careful not to annoy the local establishment.

They matter in the original intention of votes: visibility.

Votes get used to sort content.

I have seen pictures and videos about these strange design decisions. But I don’t know if the guests simply accepted their fate or if they complained.

Discouraging users from reporting content could potentially be against the Apple App Store guide. I don’t understand why Reddit is doing that.

They announced that they are investigating Democrats regarding Epstein.

An investigation can prevent the release of the Epstein files, regardless of whether the president signed the bill or not.

I don’t think O.J. Simpson’s lawyer’s family was ever poor.

I reported a post and was then reported by mods for “report abuse”. There’s no explanation what this even is. An admin said “when you know, you know”is the whole definition. So I received a few days suspension. But the mods removed the post. Appeal was ignored.

Now mods and admins are gaslighting everyone into thinking that there’s no problem. Despite there being complaints by multiple people (including some mods) for years now.
