It decisively won the Indian Wars

ROK had three main advantages that allowed it to be more prosperous than DPRK:

1. It wasn’t mostly destroyed by the US during the war.
2. It has plenty of plains suitable for farming while DPRK has steep mountainous terrain.
3. It wasn’t sanctioned or embargoed.

Other events like the fall of the USSR and a major flood have also set DPRK back.

It will be interesting to watch if DPRK becomes the more prosperous nation long-term due to socialism simply being a better economic system and what this will mean for future reunification. But I am getting ahead of myself.

For me the pivotal moment was witnessing how Chinese authorities responded to the Hong Kong protests vs. how US authorities responded to the George Floyd protests.

This is a reminder that things would be even worse if liberals had won.

My thoughts:

1. If it is true that some GCC countries wanted the war on Iran then they have bet a losing bet expecting the US and Israel to further their interests.
2. If it is true that some GCC countries opposed the war then I hope they learn that the US cannot be trusted and won’t act in their interests. Either way, 1 or 2 or both true (GCC has 6 members with competing goals), I hope they distance themselves from the US and Israel.
3. The US not paying for the damages could mean this is not the Suez Moment we were hoping for and the US won’t be shy to pursue other losing wars if it knows someone else will pay for it. The US is doing it to Europe in Ukraine.
4. Iran being paid reparations means another war with it is far less likely but not improbable given Israel’s expansionst goals.

I like how China became the top car exporting country despite being locked out of the US market and restricted in most of European markets.

War criminals. The US and Israel somehow have to target civilians and civilian infrastructure.

I’m currently residing in a major oil exporter and I still see BYD cars daily, the Seal is gorgeous. I think EVs have about 3% of the market here, and Lucid has a factory not too far from where I live.

If I were to buy an EV it will probably be the Bestune Mini. For some reason it costs 2x as much as it does in its home country -not tariffs, there’s barely any, and VAT is 15% on all products imported or domestic- but that still makes it the cheapest car on sale here, EV or otherwise.
