“We have no indication that this is possible,” Belgian Chief of Defence Gen. Frederik Vansina
“It is not possible to ‘remotely control’ or ‘block’ the F-35A fighter jets, for example by external intervention in the electronics,” according to … the Swiss Department of Federal Defense. “Switzerland does not need consent if it wants to use its weapons systems or guided missiles for its own defense. It can do this autonomously, independently, and at any time.”

Simply ending support contracts cripples anything as complicated as a fighter jet quickly enough. This is true of all fighter jets.

F-35s are amazing planes. What are you talking about?
What other plane is VTOL, stealth, and multi-role? The VTOL part is particularly good for England as it turns their assault carriers from something that can only hold helicopters and Harriers (a retired aircraft), into something that holds one of the best aircraft in the world.

Not sure why you are trying to jump from the frying pan directly into the fire…

This is just more government bullshit
Just like the California cancer label that is on everything, if you put this label on common shit like bacon, then yes, “it’s just more government bullshit” is exactly how the vast majority of people will treat it.

You know, I can’t remember any toothpaste with that warning. So, win one for us I guess! ;p

If the labels don’t have some type of ranking system, then they are pointless. A great example being the California cancer labels that are on fucking everything. It’s impossible to use them to gauge risk, because everything you buy causes cancer in California.

A bunch of the stuff I buy has CA cancer warnings on it. When you start putting the warnings on common things, it makes the warnings meaningless…
Do any of the things I buy have a notable chance to cause caner? I have no fucking clue, because everything causes cancer in California.

Luckily, there are half a dozen invaders who won’t be doing much invading today.

Great news!

Trump is just a constant whiplash. Two days ago he was talking about selling Ukraine Tomahawks, now he is talking about Ukraine giving up vast sums of land and people.

As an aside, Rapid Dragon is pretty damn cool, and I see it as the future of cruise missile deployment. It is by far the simplest and cheapest way to deploy cruise missiles en-mass. Mostly because it lets you use your existing air-lift capability, rather than requiring specialized platforms for deployment.
Note: It won’t replace VLS cells, which are the way to do naval and ground launched missile deployment. Take a look at HIMARS, which is basically a smaller VLS cell erector/launcher:

I think it’s the latter. I suspect tomahawk’s software assumes they are being initially fired in roughly the ‘up’ direction (see every iteration so far of anything that fires a tomahawk). This would present issues when deployed as part of rapid dragon, which dumps missiles in roughly the ‘down’ direction when leaving the pallet. There is no technical reason this cannot be accounted for in the software, I simply suspect it hasn’t been. Modifying and testing the software would take time.
Since they are already fired out of a VLS cell, something that is purposefully modular and unconcerned to what it is attached to, we have lots of great ground-based options. All you really need to do is get the VLS cell roughly vertical and you are good to go.

I’m happy someone else came back to this. I’m amazed at how many votes the OP got here while literally just making shit up.
Are people really this blinded to just…basic facts?

I’m curious to see is what happens as Russia’s artillery gets scarcer and scarcer. That one is a particularly slow burn, unfortunately.
Really we need the US and Europe to provide long range cruise missiles in quantity. Shutting down (even just drastically slowing) Russia’s manufacturing is the quickest way to finish the war.

Humans do find it easier to see moving objects. So, sitting still, particularly if the drone has a poor feed, is a pretty decent strategy.
Did not work here…not at all.
Depends on what the deployment is, if it is just airstrikes or even limited ground operations to break a few things and leave, no reason for it to be a forever war.
Note: I have made zero statements about that being something I would support.
