I never met Hercules, if he actually existed, so I can’t objectively tell if Hercules would have been less blinded by the current zeitgeist of his ancient greek time than Sorbo was by the 20th century.
I can’t objectively tell if Hercules would have been offended by Sorbo’s depiction of him because Sorbo was too progressive or too conservative for Hercules, but I bet it would have been a mix of both, if Hercules was a real person.

12·4 days agoSpecifying that it is the Finnish Government rather than The Finnish People is like specifying that the US Government, the Russian Government, or China’s Government is doing something that their people don’t want them to do. That’s just normal for any State Entity. Which is why all States and all forms of currency need to be abolished.

Or, alternatively, start curating your list of communities to block the comms channels that provide politics. That latter option is kinda what I did.
Maybe, maybe not. The Boys was written from 2006-2012 in comicbook form, and they followed all storylines almost exactly as written. The ending of The Boys was predetermined because they were adapting an already written story that they didn’t want to change.
Invincible was written over the timeframe of 2003-2014 in comicbook form. They have already ignored major plot points to make Invincible a bit more palatable to a wider audience. I suspect that they will end it in much the same way the original ended, with Nolan and Markus being the undisputed protectors of Earth, but not having any real power on Earth, via actual laws and standings.

politics @lemmy.world•Bidenomics Was More Successful Than People Think | Conventional wisdom holds that Joe Biden’s bet on climate investment was a bust. The data suggest otherwise.
5·4 days ago“Convetional Wisdom” has been shoving Horse and Sparrow economics down our throats for 150 years. It’s never worked for anyone but The Epstein Class. Of course any other model will work more successfully when we are excluding The (psychologically damaged and sick) Dragons from economic policy.
Nah, I get it. I wouldn’t have gotten to season 2 if I had watched season 1 before season 2 was already out. Season 1 ended on the WORST POSSIBLE down note that they could, and I think they did that intentionally.
Minor spoilers: it’s not like they ended season 2 on a good note, just that Nolan and Markus do finally find a common ground against Nolan’s objectives.
Other than the fact that Sorbo misunderstood the script, and screamed “Disappointed!,” when that was the acting direction in square brackets to indicate emotion, on the next line that he was supposed to deliver in a disappointed tone. Apparently Kevin Sorbo is illiterate when it comes to scripts, which is entirely unsurprising for a traitor to humanity like Sorbo.
One could claim that was kinda the plot of The Boondock Saints, though that was a bit different.
More like, “ok these guys back each other up no matter the outcome.” “They hooked up with a friend of their’s that happens to be a low level package boy for the mob.” “Aww. Kitty.” “Holy fuck why did you accidentally kill the kitty‽” “Kill Russian mobsters until they don’t have any influence in Boston anymore, and maybe branch out to other cities.”
I think the issue was more DC’s power scaling issues. It’s kinda hard to write a compelling story for Superman or Batman at their peak, because they are, for the most part, invincible and flawless according to DC. I suspect that her not having the ability to access her powers for 3/4 of the movie was an effort to make her seem like a Marvel superhero with flaws and relatability. Unfortunately, DC doesn’t know how to do that, as Marvel doesn’t even know how to do that consistently. Power creep is a real problem if you can’t just magic away the hero’s basic invulnerability.
This is one of the issues that Invincible tackled quite nicely at least until the end of season 2. I haven’t gotten around to watching season 3.
As a side quest, Krypto can kill Sam Altman and Peter Thiel to help reign in crypto.
Conservatives require cameltoe. Fucking disgusting, but entirely predictable behavior from the Epstien Class.
